Join us for an insightful talk with Aundré Bumgardner as he provides an update on the latest developments in the 2024 State legislature regarding open space and the environment, and a glimpse into what we can expect in the 2025 legislative session. With his roles on both the Environment and Finance Committees, Aundré is uniquely positioned to share the inside story on how the CT legislature is shaping the future of conservation in our State and community. Don’t miss this opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of the legislative landscape and its impact on our environment!
Aundré is serving his second non-consecutive term as the State Representative of the 41st House District, representing the people of Groton and Stonington in the General Assembly. He serves on a number of committees, including the Finance, Planning & Development, and Environment. Additionally, he serves as Assistant Majority Leader and as the secretary of the legislature’s Black and Puerto Rican Caucus. Rep. Bumgardner has been involved in politics from a young age. He was only 20 years old when he was first elected to the house in 2014, making him the youngest representative in CT State history. From 2018 to 2022, he served on the Groton Town Council. When not in Hartford, Rep. Bumgardner works as a Customer Experience Specialist for Balfour Beatty Communities, the privatized military housing partner at the U.S. Naval Submarine base in Groton.
Aundré is a lifelong resident of Groton and is married to his wife, Kayla.
