Local Archeology of the Pequot War Battle Sites

Kevin McBride, Associate Professor of Anthropology at the UCONN

Kevin McBride’s research on Colonial & Native American archaeology in the northeastern United States has been published in numerous academic journals that focus on historical archaeology and indigenous studies. He is the author of several articles and book chapters on historical archaeological research, as well as authored or co-authored many archaeological survey reports associated with his projects. Kevin is currently working with the officials from the State of Connecticut to designate Gungywamp as an archaeological preserve. His talk will focus on the archeology of the Pequot War battlefield sites from 1637 that occurred across Groton, including a number that are on GOSA and Town of Groton owned properties.
