Celebrating the First Day of Spring with Northeast Academy Hikers

On Monday, March 20th, GOSA volunteers hosted 67 first graders from Northeast Academy along with their teachers and parent chaperones for a hike at GOSA’s Sheep Farm North property on Hazelnut Hill Road in Groton. The sun was shining, birds were singing, the brook was flowing swiftly, and the waterfall was spectacular in its beauty!

The children enjoyed a morning filled with adventure and exploration. They climbed rocks, found beautiful stones, and observed moss and lichen covering rocks and the base of a tree.

It was GOSA’s pleasure to hike with the enthusiastic, adventurous group. We look forward to hiking with them at our The Merritt Family Forest property in May!

A special thanks to Ernie K. and the Food Service department at Groton Public Schools for providing apple slices for our happy hikers!
