GOSA Acquires 104-Acre Sheep Farm South

Congratulations to all our members and donors!

Groton Open Space Association, Inc., is pleased to announce the acquisition of the 104-acre Sheep Farm South property in Groton, Connecticut, on April 21, 2021.
The acquisition was funded in part by a Connecticut Department of Energy & Environmental Protection (DEEP)
Open Space Watershed Program grant, and by contributions from individuals, organizations and foundations.
Many thanks to all the GOSA donors who made this possible!
The property abuts GOSA’s 63-acre Sheep Farm and will provide a key connection in Groton’s north-south greenbelt, and is across the road from The Merritt Family Forest, which is central to the east-west greenbelt that connects Bluff Point State Park to Beebe Cove and Town’s End
The public is welcome to visit the property, from the Sheep Farm entrance, or from the intersection of Flanders Road at Route 1. The property will be open from dawn to dusk for non-motorized recreational activity.
Please allow time for GOSA to develop a management and trail plan, maps, install boundary markers, and to work on habitat restoration projects.
