Become a Member! We invite you to join Groton Open Space Association, Inc. Your membership indicates to us your support in our mission to protect the natural wildlife habitats within Groton and Southeast Connecticut, and to protect inland waters and the waters joining Fishers Island and Long Island Sounds. Your $10.00 membership fee offers you the opportunity to join us in the following GOSA activities: GOSA's monthly board meetings GOSA's annual clean-up day at Haley Farm State Park, held each April, Earth Day GOSA's annual membership meeting and educational program, each October GOSA's advocacy work, including testifying before town commissions, and government agencies, coordinating with state agencies and with conservation groups GOSA's newsletters GOSA's workshops and educational programs intended for an audience of the general public and land use officials GOSA's stewardship of the Maintenance Fund for Haley Farm State Park. The interest from this fund pays for the annual mowing of the fields, making Haley Farm one of the few state parks with extensive grassland and shrubby wildlife habitat. In addition to the $10.00 membership fee, you are invited to donate to one of the following funds. We sincerely appreciate your support: Haley Farm Maintenance Fund: Pays for annual mowing as noted above. Land Acquisition Fund: Dedicated to future open space land purchases. General fund: An unrestricted fund used to pay general expenses such as consultants' fees, court fees, hall rental, copying and mailing fees.
