Join GOSA and GO GROTON* for a 2-mile hike at The Merritt Family Forest. The figure eight loop trail will take us through the wooded forest, over streams, and past several New England rock walls before returning to the trailhead meadow. Meet at the trailhead on Fishtown Road (opposite 72 Fishtown Rd. property) for a 1:00 PM start. Parking is street side on either Fishtown Rd. or Rhonda Drive. Hike is moderate due to some elevation gain.
GO GROTON* is a partnership between GOSA, Groton Public Schools and the Town of Groton Parks and Recreation.
Established in 1967, Groton Open Space Association protects and preserves our local forests, streams, and wildlife by acquiring, improving, and maintaining open space properties. These spaces are made available to the community for passive recreation, education, and to foster an appreciation of nature.
We invite you to visit the properties that GOSA has helped protect. All properties are free and open to the public from sunrise to sunset.
